NKU DEFEATS HILLSDALE, 4-0

Anderson scores two goals to lead Norse

HILLSDALE, Mich. - Jeff Anderson scored a pair of goals Wednesday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University men’s soccer team defeated Hillsdale College, 4-0.

Mike Poole and David Lies also added goals for the Norse, who extended their win streak to three and improved to 3-1-1. Poole gave NKU a 1-0 lead at the 39:27 mark off an assist from Kevin Holder, and the Norse were in control the entire match.

Sophomore goalie Nate Madden picked up the shutout for NKU and recorded two saves. Nate McCall and Jeff Sucher also added assists for the Norse.

Anderson, a graduate of LaSalle High School in Cincinnati, now has six goals this season. It was the second straight match the senior forward has scored two goals.

The Norse will begin Great Lakes Valley Conference action at 5:30 p.m. Friday with a home match against the University of Southern Indiana (2-3). NKU will also play host to the University of Missouri-St. Louis (1-2) at noon on Sunday.
