Norse improve to 7-10 with win over IPFW |

WILDER, Ky. - Mohamed Janah scored a goal and added an assist Sunday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University mens soccer team defeated Indiana-Purdue University at Fort Wayne, 4-1, at the Town & Country Sports Complex. IPFW took a 1-0 lead early in the first half, but goals by Jeff Anderson and Janah gave NKU a 2-1 halftime advantage. The Norse extended their lead to 3-1 when Kevin Crone scored a goal off an assist from Mike Poole at the 64:08 mark, and NKU sealed the victory when Aaron Pitzer scored off an assist from Janah at the 66:22 mark. NKU improved to 7-10 overall, 6-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse have qualified for the upcoming GLVC Tournament and will play at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Nov. 1 in the first round. NKU is the No. 5 seed in the GLVC Tournament, and Wisconsin-Parkside is the No. 4 seed. NKU dropped a 5-0 decision at Wisconsin-Parkside earlier this season.
