NKU DEFEATS UM-ST. LOUIS, 3-2

Anderson’s goal with :02 gives NKU the win

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Jeff Anderson scored a goal with two seconds remaining in regulation Friday night to give the Northern Kentucky University men’s soccer team a 3-2 win over the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Anderson scored a pair of goals for NKU, which improved to 9-7 overall, 6-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse - who rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit with three goals in the final 15 minutes Friday - also clinched a first-round home match in the upcoming GLVC Tournament with the victory.

Anderson’s first goal, which came at the 74:34 mark, cut the deficit to 2-1. Greg Colston scored a goal at the 86:07 mark to tie the contest at 2-2, setting the stage for Anderson’s winning score.

NKU will be the No. 4 seed in the GLVC Tournament and play host to the No. 5 seed (which will be determined after Sunday’s matches) on Oct. 31 at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky. The time of the match will be determined next week.
