ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Gabe Andorf scored a goal five minutes into the match Sunday afternoon as the Lewis University mens soccer team defeated Northern Kentucky University, 1-0. Lewis, ranked No. 7 nationally in the Division II poll, took a 1-0 lead at the 5:03 mark when Andorf scored off an assist from Wolf Janvier. The Lewis defense took over and held NKU scoreless, while goalie Andrew Barks recorded the shutout with four saves. Lewis improved to 12-3 overall, 7-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. NKU dropped to 5-10 overall, 4-5 in the GLVC. NKU will play host to Saint Josephs College at 6 p.m. this Friday at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky. LU 1, NKU 0 GOALS: LU-Andorf. SHUTOUT: Barks (4 saves). RECORDS: LU 12-3, 7-2 GLVC; NKU 5-10, 4-5 GLVC. |
