Norse improve to 8-7 overall, 5-3 in the GLVC |

WILDER, Ky. - Jeff Anderson and Kevin Morath both scored goals in the second half Sunday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University mens soccer team defeated Quincy (Ill.) University, 2-1, at the Town & Country Sports Complex. Quincy took a 1-0 lead at the 18:24 mark when Matt Spector headed in a ball off a Joe Schiro corner kick. The Hawks held the 1-0 lead at halftime. Anderson tied the match at 1-1 with a goal at the 60:00 mark, and Morath scored off an assist from Mike Poole at the 65:12 mark to give the Norse a 2-1 lead. NKU improved to 8-7 overall, 5-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. NKU will hit the road for a GLVC match at the University of Missouri-St. Louis this Friday night at 8:30 p.m. The Norse can wrap up homefield advantage for the first round of the GLVC Tournament if they can defeat Missouri-St. Louis and the University of Southern Indiana.
