WILDER, Ky. - Yuzuru Takami scored a goal and had an assist Friday night as the Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville men’s soccer team defeated Northern Kentucky University, 3-0, at the Town & Country Sports Complex. Takami assisted David Mwendapole’s breakaway goal 13 minutes into the match to give SIUE (11-1-2 overall, 6-0-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference) a 1-0 lead. Takami sealed the win for SIUE with less than a minute remaining with a goal to give the Cougars a 3-0 advantage. NKU - which lost for the third consecutive time - dropped to 7-7 overall, 4-3 in the GLVC. The Norse are tied with the University of Indianapolis for fourth place in the GLVC standings. NKU will play host to Quincy (Ill.) University at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
