NKU LOSES IN FINAL MINUTES

Missouri-St. Louis wins, 2-1, on late goal

ST. LOUIS - Scott Wittenborn’s goal with less than two minutes remaining in regulation Friday night snapped a 1-1 tie and gave the University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s soccer team a 2-1 win over Northern Kentucky University.

Wittenborn knocked in the winning score off a pass from Alen Jujic, who tracked down a free kick from Jeff Facchin. Wittenborn finished off the play with a goal at the 88:09 mark, and Missouri-St. Louis held on for the victory.

Jeremy Robertson tallied NKU’s goal in the first half off an assist from David Botos, and the score remained tied until the closing two minutes. NKU dropped to 3-5-2 overall, 1-1-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Missouri-St. Louis improved to 4-7 overall, 2-3 in the GLVC.

NKU will visit the University of Southern Indiana at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
