MOORE NAMED GLVC’S BEST

Norse senior voted GLVC Player of the Year

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University women’s soccer standout Betsy Moore has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year by the league coaches.

Moore, a graduate of McAuley High School in Cincinnati, has 13 goals and 17 assists this season for a 19-1 NKU squad that captured its fourth consecutive GLVC championship on Sunday. Moore, a senior forward, also was named GLVC Player of the Year during the 1999 season.

Five other NKU players - Amanda Trout (Northwest HS), Tricia Ruark (Seton HS), Lori Kevill (Newport Central Catholic HS), Jeanna Martin (Seton HS) and Bessie Black (Scott HS) - also were named first team All-GLVC. The Norse’s Eva Broeg (Dixie Heights HS) earned second team All-GLVC honors.

NKU’s Bob Sheehan was named GLVC Coach of the Year after leading the Norse to a perfect (10-0) record in the conference this season.
