NKU now 11-2 after knocking off Knights


HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Junior guard Brian Lawhon scored 21 points Saturday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University men’s basketball team defeated Bellarmine College, 96-83, in Regents Hall.

Lawhon made 7 of 8 shots from the field, including all four of his three-point attempts, as NKU improved to 11-2 overall, 3-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. NKU rallied from a 47-42 halftime deficit by shooting 69 percent from the field in the second half.

Sophomore forward Craig Sanders scored 18 points for the Norse, and junior guard Craig Conley added 14 points. Junior forward Billy Brewster scored 12 points for NKU, and junior forward Adam Norwell came off the bench to add 10 points and six rebounds.

Senior guard Brad Bixler scored 18 points to lead Bellarmine, which dropped to 5-6 overall, 0-5 in the GLVC.
