Norse remain unbeaten (7-0) with win over Flyers |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Craig Sanders scored 21 points Thursday night as the Northern Kentucky University mens basketball team defeated Lewis University, 95-87, in Regents Hall. Todd Clark added 15 points as NKU improved to 7-0 overall, 1-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse have now won 19 consecutive home games dating back to the 1998-99 season. NKU rallied from a 49-41 deficit early in the second half by scoring 12 unanswered points. Sanders keyed the spurt with five straight points. NKU won despite allowing Lewis (1-4, 0-1 GLVC) to make 16 three-point shots. Jeff McKinley scored 14 points for NKU, which is ranked No. 4 nationally in the Division II poll. NKU has now beaten Lewis eight consecutive times in Regents Hall. The last time Lewis defeated NKU in Regents Hall was during the 1992-93 season, when the Flyers posted a 97-88 victory over the Norse. |
