Norse improve to 3-0 with victory over Rollins (Fla.) |

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Senior forward Todd Clark scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds Sunday night as the Northern Kentucky University mens basketball team defeated Rollins (Fla.) College, 64-43, to capture the Disney Division II Tip-Off Classic championship. NKU (3-0) built a 32-20 halftime lead by holding Rollins to 29.6 percent shooting from the field. Clark scored nine points in the first half to spark the Norse. NKU junior forward Carl Mitchell - who scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds on Sunday - was named the tournaments most valuable player. Clark and sophomore guard Brenden Stowers also earned All-Tournament honors for NKU. NKU will return home to host the John L. Griffin/Lions Club Classic this Friday night. The Norse will play host to Indiana University-Southeast at 7:45 p.m. Friday in Regents Hall. California (Pa.) will play Ohio Dominican at 5:30 p.m. in the other first-round game Friday. |
