NKU POSTS 70-55 WIN OVER UWP

Sanders scores 20 to lead Norse (10-4, 6-2 GLVC)

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Craig Sanders scored 20 points Thursday night as the Northern Kentucky University men’s basketball team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 70-55, in Regents Hall.

Sanders scored 12 points in the first half as NKU (10-4 overall, 6-2 Great Lakes Valley Conference) built a 36-21 lead. The Norse held Wisconsin-Parkside (10-4, 6-2 GLVC) to just 36.5 percent shooting from the field and led the entire game.

Sanders has now scored in double figures in 34 consecutive games. The NKU record for consecutive games in double figures is 39 (held by Brady Jackson).

Bobby St-Preux finished with 13 points and nine rebounds for the Norse, who made 45.3 percent of their shots from the field. Brenden Stowers (11 points) and Mike Kelsey (10 points) also scored in double figures for NKU.

Quincey Moman scored 16 points to lead Wisconsin-Parkside, which is now 0-7 all-time in Regents Hall. The Rangers were No. 7 in the latest NCAA II Great Lakes Region poll, and NKU was rated No. 9. The top six teams in the poll will qualify for the NCAA Division II Tournament in March.

NKU will play host to Saint Joseph’s College at 3:15 p.m. Saturday in Regents Hall.
