NKU DEFEATS SJC, 110-80

Sanders, Marston combine for 52 points

 

RENSSELAER, Ind. - Craig Sanders and Scott Marston combined for 52 points Saturday night as the Northern Kentucky University men’s basketball team defeated Saint Joseph's College, 110-80, at the Richard Scharf Alumni Fieldhouse.

Sanders, a graduate of McNicholas High School, scored 28 points and made seven three-pointers. Marston, an Oak Hills High School graduate, came off the bench and scored 24 points. Marston connected on five three-pointers as NKU improved to 15-2 overall, 7-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

The Norse - ranked No. 11 nationally in the Division II Bulletin poll - made 17 of 24 three-point attempts, including 10 of 14 in the first half. NKU built a 52-37 halftime lead by shooting 58.8 percent from the field.

NKU will host the University of Southern Indiana - which defeated Kentucky Wesleyan, 93-92 on Saturday - at 7:45 p.m. Thursday night in Regents Hall.
