Saint Josephs defeats Norse, 101-82 |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Brent Mason scored 34 points and grabbed 12 rebounds Thursday night as the Saint Josephs College mens basketball team ended Northern Kentucky Universitys home winning streak at 25 games, 101-82, in Regents Hall. Brandon Yates, Hodges Smith and Marlin Murphy all scored 17 points for Saint Josephs, which improved to 13-10 overall, 7-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Yates also grabbed 11 rebounds for the Pumas. Prior to Thursday, the last team to beat NKU in Regents Hall was the University of Indianapolis, which posted an 81-71 victory over the Norse on Feb. 9, 1999. Saint Josephs built a 48-44 halftime lead by shooting 63.3 percent from the field. The Pumas limited NKU (19-4, 10-4 GLVC) to just 31.4 percent from the field during the second half to end the Norses Regents Hall win streak. Craig Sanders led NKU, ranked No. 7 nationally in the Division II poll, with 24 points. Carl Mitchell scored 18 points and had 15 rebounds for NKU, and Craig Conley added 17 points. |
