NKU RALLIES TO DEFEAT UWP, 81-76, IN 2 OTS

 

KENOSHA, Wis. - Junior center Zach Wieber scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds Saturday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University men’s basketball team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 81-76, in double overtime.

NKU (5-1 overall, 1-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference) held a 66-64 with 1.2 seconds remaining in regulation, but UWP’s Willie Robinson scored off an inbounds pass to send the game into overtime. Robinson finished with 18 points and made all seven of his fields goal attempts for the Rangers.

Junior forward Adam Norwell added 14 points off the bench for NKU, and Craig Conley scored 13 points. NKU made 20 of 22 free throw attempts and won the rebounding battle by a 34-27 margin.
