NKU DEFEATS IU-SOUTHEAST, 94-75

Mitchell scores 22 points as Norse improve to 7-4

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Carl Mitchell scored 22 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and added three blocked shots Saturday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University men’s basketball team defeated Indiana University-Southeast, 94-75, in Regents Hall.

Bobby St-Preux also recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds as NKU improved to 7-4. Craig Sanders finished with 18 points and has now scored in double figures in 31 consecutive games. The NKU record for consecutive games in double figures is 39, set by Brady Jackson.

NKU built a 57-35 halftime lead by making 11 of 20 three-point attempts. The Norse finished 17 of 35 from three-point range and won the rebounding battle by a 47-27 margin.

Brenden Stowers added 17 points and eight assists for NKU, which is now 9-0 all-time against Indiana-Southeast (6-11).

NKU will resume Great Lakes Valley Conference play Thursday night with an 8:30 p.m. game at Quincy (Ill.) University.
