NORSE FINISH 12th AT NCAA II NORTH REGIONAL
NKU concludes NCAA Tournament with three-day total of 941
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Northern Kentucky University men’s golf team finished 12th at the NCAA Division II North Regional Tournament on Wednesday with a three-round total of 941 (+77) at the par-72 Mistwood Golf Course.
NKU began the event on Monday by shooting a team score of 296, which tied the Norse for second place after one round. NKU, however, shot rounds of 318 on Tuesday and 327 on Wednesday to fall out of contention for a berth in the NCAA Division II Championships.
The top five teams in the NCAA North Regional Tournament advanced to the NCAA Division II Championships May 16-19 at Turlock Country Club in Turlock, Calif.
Ferris State University won the NCAA Division II North Regional Tournament on Wednesday with a final score of 896. Missouri-St. Louis, Charleston (W. Va.), Grand Valley State and Glenville (W. Va.) State also qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships by placing in the top five.
Steve Landrum was NKU’s top finisher with a three-day total of 234, which was good for 40th place. Drew Von Lehman posted a 46th-place finish for NKU with a total of 235.
