GLIAC/GLVC volleyball tournament scheduled for Sept. 7-8

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University will play host to the 2001 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference/Great Lakes Valley Conference Showdown Tournament Sept. 7-8 in Regents Hall.

The GLIAC/GLVC Showdown will feature eight of the top volleyball programs in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region, with four teams from the GLVC and four teams from the GLIAC. NKU, the four-time defending champion of the GLVC, the University of Southern Indiana, Lewis University and Quincy University will represent the GLVC.

Grand Valley State University, Northwood University, Northern Michigan University and Ferris State University will represent the GLIAC. Grand Valley State captured the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region championship last season and advanced to the Elite Eight.

NKU will meet Grand Valley State at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7. The Norse will also play Northwood at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, and Northern Michigan at 3 p.m. that same afternoon.
