GASTRIGHT EARNS GLVC HONOR

Norse senior named scholar-athlete

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University volleyball player Bethany Gastright has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference scholar-athlete of the year in that sport. Gastright, a senior outside hitter and a graduate of Holy Cross High School, also earned Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year honors this season. She finished with 553 kills and a .306 hitting percentage this season while leading the Norse to their fifth consecutive GLVC championship. Gastright finished her career as NKU’s all-time career leader with 1,702 kills. She shared the GLVC scholar-athlete honor with University of Southern Indiana’s Shannon Wells.
