WINSTEL, COTTRELL EARN GLVC HONORS
Winstel GLVC Coach of the Year; Cottrell GLVC co-Player of the Year
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky Universitys Nancy Winstel has been selected Great Lakes Valley Conference Coach of the Year, and Norse sophomore forward Michelle Cottrell has been named GLVC co-Player of the Year, the league announced Tuesday.
Winstel, who has led NKU to a 27-2 record entering the NCAA Division II Tournament, earned the GLVC coaching honor for the fifth time in her career. She also was named GLVC Coach of the Year last season.
Cottrell, a graduate of Boone County High School, averages 17 points and 9.1 rebounds. Cottrell shared the GLVC Player of the Year honor with Southern Illinois University at Edwardsvilles Misi Clark, who averages 21.4 ppg.
NKU junior guard Michele Tuchfarber was named second team All-GLVC, and teammate Heather Livingstone was honorable mention.
Cottrell was also named Daktronics first team All-Great Lakes Region on Tuesday.
