Carskadon wins for second straight week as NKU posts perfect score |

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Northern Kentucky University sophomore cross country runner Ryan Carskadon captured first-place honors for the second straight week as the Norse posted a perfect score (15) Saturday to win the Greensboro Invitational. Carskadon finished the eight-kilometer, rain-soaked course in 27:13 for first place. NKUs Kevin Alessandro posted a second place finish with a time of 28:00, and he was followed by Chris Lenhof (third place, 28:42), Pat Sullivan (fourth place, 28:44) and Brian Alessandro (fifth place, 28:50). NKU took first place with the total of 15 points and finished 40 points ahead of second-place St. Augustines (55 total points). In the womens race, NKU freshman Lissa Faulkner captured first-place honors with a time of 20:23 in the five-kilometer course as the Norse won the team title with a score of 22. Faulkner became the first NKU womens cross country runner since 1993 (Becky Trotta) to finish first in a race. NKUs Elaine Koenig took second place with a time of 20:42, and Anna Moore captured fourth place with a time of 21:19. Emily Sand took fifth place in a time of 21:50, and Kristen Zink gave NKU five runners in the top 10 by taking 10th place with a time of 22:31.
