NKU senior now has 1,300 career kills |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky Universitys Bethany Gastright has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conferences Player of the Week in volleyball. Gastright, a 5-foot-11 senior outside hitter, hit .416 for the week as the Norse handed NAIA power Georgetown (Ky.) College its first defeat of the season and downed Saint Josephs College in three games. She recorded 43 kills, five service aces, 14 digs and three blocks in the two victories. Gastright, who leads NKU with 151 kills this season, now has exactly 1,300 kills in her career and ranks No. 5 in Norse history in that category. NKU (6-4 overall, 1-0 GLVC) will play host to the University of Indianapolis at 7 p.m. Wednesday night in Regents Hall. NKU owns a 28-0 all-time record against the Greyhounds. |
