NKU SPLITS DOUBLEHEADER AT USI

Norse now 32-14 overall

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Beau Brake’s run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning Saturday snapped a 3-3 tie and gave the Northern Kentucky University baseball team a 4-3 win over the University of Southern Indiana in the second game of a doubleheader.

Brake’s RBI single drove in Matt Mason with the go-ahead run as NKU earned a split of the doubleheader. In the first game, USI rallied from a 9-7 deficit by scoring five runs in the fifth inning en route to a 15-9 win.

NKU is now 32-14 overall, 10-9 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse will play a doubleheader at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville at 1 p.m. Sunday.
