KENOSHA, Wis. - Steve Walton and Shaun Erie both collected four hits in the second game Friday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University baseball team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 9-3, to earn of a split of the doubleheader. Wisconsin-Parkside won the first game, 2-0, as Aaron Taylor and Michael Elliott combined for a three-hit shutout. In the second game, Walton and Erie led NKUs 18-hit attack. Pat Eschan added two runs batted in for the Norse, who are 29-11 overall, 8-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Lenny Bays pitched seven innings and picked up the win for NKU. Wisconsin-Parkside is now 23-11 overall, 8-6 in the GLVC. The two teams will meet in a single game Saturday at 1 p.m., and the winner will take sole possession of second place in the GLVC North Division. |
