MASON HITS TWO HOME RUNS TO PACE NKU

Norse defeat Spalding, 18-6, behind Mason’s 4 RBI

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Junior first baseman Matt Mason hit two home runs and drove in four runs Tuesday night as the Northern Kentucky University baseball team defeated Spalding University, 18-6.

Mason, a graduate of Highlands High School, collected four hits to lead the NKU (16-10) offensive attack. Sophomore outfielder Steve Walton had a pair of doubles and four RBI, and junior third baseman Derek Anderson had three hits and two RBI.

The Norse used a 10-run outburst in the third inning to break open a close game.
