ATHLETES OF DISTINCTION HONORED

Jeremiah, Listerman receive Athlete of Distinction Awards

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - A pair of Northern Kentucky University senior student-athletes have been selected as the University’s Athlete of Distinction Award winners.

Jenny Jeremiah, who led the NKU volleyball team to the NCAA Division II Final Four last season, earned the Margery Rouse Athlete of Distinction honor. Kevin Listerman, the all-time career steals leader in Norse history, was chosen as the Vincent Schulte Athlete of Distinction.

The Athlete of Distinction Award is the highest honor an NKU student-athlete can receive from the University. It is presented to a male and female who best exemplifies the student-athlete concept through dedication, effort, ability, leadership and unselfishness, and has given the most to NKU Athletics.

Jeremiah finished her career as NKU’s all-time leader in both kills (1,613) and digs (2,050). She was named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year as a senior, and she also earned second team All-America honors her final year.

Listerman was a four-year starter and finished his career with a school-record 304 steals. NKU advanced to the NCAA Division II national championship game twice during his career, and he was named second team All-GLVC as a junior. He recently received an NCAA postgraduate scholarship.
