NKU OPENS SEASON WITH 18-11 WIN |

Norse give Asalon victory in first game as head coach |

COLUMBIA, Ky. - Charlie Hatton collected four hits and six runs batted in Monday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University baseball team opened the 2001 season with an 18-11 win over Lindsey Wilson College. Hatton, a junior third baseman in his first season with the Norse, had two doubles and a home run to lead the offensive attack. Matt Mason added four hits for the Norse, while teammates Jason Martin, Michael Tudor and Steve Walton all hit home runs to give Todd Asalon his first victory as NKU head coach. Hatton, Tudor and Martin all hit home runs to highlight a seven-run second inning for NKU. Walton added a two-run home run in the ninth for the Norse.
