NKU WINS SLUGFEST AT UD, 16-13 |

Norse score three times in eighth to pull out victory |

DAYTON, Ohio - Sophomore third baseman Matt Dolan collected three hits and a career-high five runs batted in Wednesday as the Northern Kentucky University baseball team defeated the University of Dayton, 16-13, at Stuart Field. Keith Jackson added three RBI - including a run-scoring single in the eighth inning to snap a 13-13 tie - for the Norse. Josh Perkins and Jim Deller also collected RBI singles in the eighth as NKU posted a road win against the NCAA Division I Flyers (7-17). Lewis Jones finished with three hits, three runs and two RBI for NKU, while Shaun Erie added a pair of hits and scored three times. Dolan and Ryan Wells each homered for the Norse, who rallied from a 12-10 deficit in the seventh inning by scoring three times. Wells, a designated hitter/outfielder making his first appearance of the season for NKU, drilled a 400-foot home run in his first at-bat on Wednesday. Derrick Moeves pitched two innings of one-run baseball to record the victory for NKU, which pounded out 19 hits and improved to 14-10. Jerrod Fraley and Perkins each added three hits for NKU, which will again visit Dayton at 3 p.m. Thursday to meet the Flyers. The second game on Wednesday was postponed due to darkness.
