AKER GETS 799th CAREER WIN ON TUESDAY

Norse defeat Kentucky State, 6-1; Aker goes for 800th win on Wednesday

 

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University baseball coach Bill Aker recorded his 799th career victory Tuesday as NKU defeated Kentucky State University, 6-1, in the first game of a doubleheader at Friendship Field.

The second game of the doubleheader was canceled due to rain, and Aker will go for his 800th career victory Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. when NKU plays host to the University of Indianapolis in a doubleheader at Friendship Field.

NKU used a five-run outburst in the fifth inning to defeat Kentucky State. Junior right-hander Heath Scarbrough picked up the complete-game victory for NKU.

The Norse are now 20-14 overall, and Aker has a career record of 799-558-1 in 29 years at NKU.
