AKER NAMED GLVC COACH OF THE YEAR

Retiring Norse baseball coach earns honor for second time in career

 

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Northern Kentucky University’s Bill Aker has been voted Great Lakes Valley Conference Coach of the Year by the league baseball coaches, the GLVC announced Friday.

Aker, the only baseball coach in NKU history, announced his retirement last week and finished his 29-year career with an 806-572-1 record. Aker’s final NKU squad posted a 27-28 overall record this spring, including an 8-19 mark in the GLVC.

This is the second time that Aker has earned the GLVC Coach of the Year honor. He also was tabbed GLVC Coach of the Year in 1992.
