INDIANAPOLIS - Four Northern Kentucky University volleyball players have been named to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference first team, the league office announced Thursday.

NKU standouts Kristina Eisenmenger, Natalie Forbes, Kelsey Wesaw and Kim Nemcek were voted to the All-GLVC first team by the league’s coaches. NKU was the only school to have four players selected to the first team.

Eisenmenger, a senior outside hitter, is No. 2 in the GLVC in both kills per game (3.62) and hitting percentage (.341). The Notre Dame Academy graduate enters the GLVC Tournament with 1,699 career kills and needs just four to move into second place on the NKU all-time list.

Forbes, a senior setter from Highlands High School, has directed the NKU offense to a GLVC-leading .315 hitting percentage. Forbes averages 11.49 assists per game and is No. 2 in the GLVC in that category.

Wesaw, a senior from Lansing, Mich., leads the GLVC in hitting percentage (.348) and is third in kills per game (3.45). The 6-foot-3 right-side hitter is in her first year at NKU after transferring from Findlay, and she has been named GLVC Player of the Week twice this season.

Nemcek, a sophomore middle hitter from Geneva, Ill., has 300 kills and a .336 hitting percentage this season. Nemcek, a transfer from Winona State, also has 247 digs this season.

NKU is 27-6 overall and tied Lewis for the GLVC East Division title with a 16-2 record. The Norse play Southern Indiana in the first round of the GLVC Tournament on Friday at Romeoville, Ill. NKU is ranked 24th nationally in the NCAA Division II poll.

Southern Indiana is 16-14 overall and posted a 9-8 GLVC mark. The Screaming Eagles are the No. 3 seed from the GLVC West Division.

Earlier this season at Evansville, Ind., NKU posted a four-set win against Southern Indiana. Forbes dished out 50 assists and collected 10 digs as the Norse defeated Southern Indiana for the fourth consecutive time.

NKU leads the all-time series with Southern Indiana, 33-9. The Norse have not lost to the Screaming Eagles since 2004.

The NKU/Southern Indiana winner will take on either Missouri-St. Louis or Bellarmine in the GLVC Tournament semifinals Saturday at 5 p.m.
