INDIANAPOLIS
- Jessica Breeden finished with 16 kills, 10 blocks and a .667 hitting
percentage as Indianapolis defeated Northern Kentucky University
in a key Great Lakes Valley Conference match Saturday, 25-18, 25-22,
20-25, 25-21, in the Ruth Lilly Center.
Breeden also
served up three aces as Indianapolis improved to 23-7 overall, 11-3
in the GLVC. Courtney Anglemyer added 13 kills and a .423 hitting
percentage for the Greyhounds, who jumped out to a 9-1 lead in the
opening set and coasted to a 25-18 win.
Kristina Eisenmenger
led NKU (23-6 overall, 12-2 GLVC) with 19 kills, and Kelsey Wesaw
added 11 kills. The 25th-ranked Norse hit just .218 for the match,
including .056 in the fourth set.
Natalie Forbes
dished out 44 assists and added eight digs. Noelle Peterson collected
10 kills for NKU, which dropped two games behind Lewis in the GLVC
East Division standings.
NKU had posted
a four-set win against Indianapolis earlier this season in Regents
Hall. The Norse still own a 35-10 advantage in the all-time series
against Indianapolis.
NKU returns
to action next Saturday when Kentucky Wesleyan visits Regents Hall
at 3 p.m.
