RENSSSELAER, Ind. - Sophomore middle hitter Kim Nemcek recorded 14 kills and a .478 hitting percentage to lead the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team to a four-set victory against Saint Joseph’s on Friday night.

Nemcek also added three blocks for NKU, which won by scores of 25-14, 25-12, 18-25, 25-18. The Norse, ranked 25th nationally in the NCAA Division II poll, improved to 23-5 overall.

NKU is also 12-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and has won 10 straight matches against GLVC opponents since a Sept. 13 loss at Lewis.

Natalie Forbes directed the NKU offense to a .301 hitting percentage and finished with 39 assists. Chelsea Clark served up three aces and collected 11 digs, while teammate Kelsey Wesaw finished with 10 kills.

Kristina Eisenmenger added 13 kills and attacked at a .433 clip for NKU, which is now 35-5 all-time against Saint Joseph’s. The Norse have beaten the Pumas 16 consecutive times during the past eight seasons.

Saint Joseph’s last victory against NKU occurred on Nov. 3, 2000, when the Pumas pulled out a five-set win over the Norse at Rensselaer, Ind.

NKU meets Indianapolis in a GLVC East Division showdown Saturday at 3 p.m. The Norse posted a four-set win against the Greyhounds earlier this season in Regents Hall. NKU owns a 35-9 advantage in the all-time series against Indianapolis.
