HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University's Tristen Dye has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in volleyball.

Dye, a junior outside hitter from Millersburg, Ohio, averaged 20 kills, 13 digs and hit .367 as the Norse won two of three matches, including an upset over No. 25 Findlay. She posted 16 kills, served up four aces and hit .429 as NKU swept Findlay last Tuesday night in Regents Hall.

During a five-game win over Drury on Friday night, Dye notched a double-double with 21 kills and 18 digs with a .333 hitting percentage. The 5-foot-9 Dye nearly led NKU to another upset Saturday against No. 17 Rockhurst with 23 kills, 14 digs and four service aces.

She also hit .365 as the Norse dropped a five-game decision to the 17th-ranked Hawks.

Dye, a graduate of West Holmes High School, averages 3.65 kills and 2.84 digs per game this season, and she is hitting .285.

NKU is No. 5 seed for the GLVC Tournament at Edwardsville, Ill., and the Norse open the event Thursday against fourth-seeded Indianapolis.
