HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University volleyball players Liz Holmes and Tristen Dye each have been selected All-Great Lakes Valley Conference first team by the league's coaches. In addition, two other Norse standouts - Kristina Eisenmenger and Andrea Lanham - earned second team All-GLVC accolades. Holmes, a junior middle hitter, leads the GLVC in hitting percentage at .396 and ranks No. 8 in kills per game (3.66 kpg). A graduate of Mercy High School in Cincinnati, Holmes has 1,274 career kills at NKU. Dye, a junior outside hitter, is No. 9 in the GLVC in kills (3.63). She also leads NKU in total digs (303) and is hitting .284.
Eisenmenger, a sophomore right-side hitter and a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, ranks No. 5 in the GLVC in hitting percentage at .345. She leads the team in kills per game at 3.68. Lanham, a senior setter and another Notre Dame Academy graduate, is No. 2 in the GLVC in service aces (0.58 sapg) and No. 3 in assists (12.10 apg). She enters the GLVC Tournament with 4,675 assists, which ranks No. 2 in Norse history. NKU is the No. 5 seed in the GLVC and will meet No. 4 seed Indianapolis in the opening round of the GLVC Tournament at 6 p.m. (EST) Thursday at Edwardsville, Ill. NKU and Indianapolis played twice this season, and the Greyhounds won both meetings. NKU has never lost three times in a season to Indianapolis, which is 23-9 entering the GLVC Tournament. Southern Illinois at Edwardsville’s Kim Potthast was named the GLVC Player of the Year after leading the Cougars to the conference regular-season title with a 16-0 record.
