---Liz Holmes

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University's Liz Holmes has been selected to the NCAA Division II All-Great Lakes Region first team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Holmes, a junior middle hitter and a graduate of Mercy High School in Cincinnati, led NKU in kills (427), hitting percentage (.396) and blocks (78) this season. She also had 285 digs and 54 service aces as NKU posted a 20-13 record.

In addition, Holmes was tabbed first team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference this year and led the league in hitting percentage. She will enter next season with 1,295 career kills, which currently ranks No. 8 in Norse history.

Holmes is now eligible for NCAA Division II All-America honors from the AVCA. A year ago, she earned honorable mention All-America accolades from the AVCA.
