JEFFERSON CITY,
Tenn. - Kristina Eisenmenger recorded 11 kills and a .688 hitting
percentage as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team closed
out the Lady Eagle Classic on Saturday with a 30-24, 30-15, 30-23
win over host Carson-Newman.
Eisenmenger,
a freshman right-side hitter and a graduate of Notre Dame Academy,
added six digs and two service aces as NKU improved to 7-2. She
converted the 11 kills in 16 attempts with no errors.
Sophomore middle
hitter Liz Holmes added 15 kills, four blocks, eight digs and a
.323 hitting percentage. Freshman setter Natalie Forbes ran the
NKU offense and dished out 41 assists.
Sophomore outside
hitter Tristen Dye collected a double-double with 10 kills and 11
digs. The Norse held Carson-Newman to a .061 hitting percentage
to finish 3-1 at the two-day tournament.
In the first
match Saturday, NKU dropped a 30-26, 30-25, 30-19 decision to Christian
Brothers.
NKU will play
at the Charleston (W. Va.) Tournament next weekend, beginning with
a 2 p.m. match against Shepherd on Friday. The Norse will face host
Charleston at 6 p.m. later that day.
