HIGHLAND HEIGHTS,
Ky. - Andrea Lanham picked up 41 assists and four service aces Friday
night as Northern Kentucky University coasted to a 30-22, 30-27,
30-27 win over Wisconsin-Parkside in Regents Hall.
Lanham, a junior
setter and a Notre Dame Academy graduate, also moved into fifth
place in Norse history with 2,847 career assists. Lanham added five
kills, six digs and hit .357 for the match.
With NKU holding
a 28-27 lead in the second game, Lanham picked up a kill to extend
the Norse advantage to 29-27. A Wisconsin-Parkside hitting error
on the next point gave NKU a 30-27 win, and the Norse cruised to
another 30-27 victory in the third stanza to take the match.
Liz Holmes
and Kristina Eisenmenger each had 12 kills as the Norse improved
to 15-4 overall, 4-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Holmes
hit .368, while Eisenmenger attacked at a .304 clip.
Holmes also
added two service aces and seven digs. Jennifer Wirtz finished with
six kills and a .385 hitting percentage for the Norse, while Tristen
Dye added eight kills.
Natalie Forbes
served up three aces for NKU, which leads the all-time series with
Wisconsin-Parkside by a 20-1 margin. Forbes also collected a team-leading
nine digs.
NKU will meet
Lewis at 1 p.m. Saturday in Regents Hall.
