CHARLESTON,
W. Va. - Andrea Lanham finished with 55 assists, 13 digs and six
service aces as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team
posted a 30-28, 25-30, 30-28, 30-11 win over Indiana (Pa.) at the
Charleston (W. Va.) Tournament on Saturday.
Lanham, a junior
setter and a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, also added four kills
as NKU finished unbeaten (4-0) at the two-day event and improved
to 11-2 overall. The Norse also extended their winning streak to
five with the four-game victory over IUP (9-2).
Liz Holmes
collected a double-double with 18 kills and 11 digs. Holmes attacked
at a .385 clip and also had three blocks.
Kristina Eisenmenger
added 15 kills and five blocks for NKU, while teammate Tristen Dye
notched 12 kills and eight digs. Brittany Dixon served up four aces
and added 12 digs for the Norse.
NKU opened
Saturday with a 30-18, 30-12, 30-27 victory over Mars Hill (N.C.).
Eisenmenger and Jennifer Wirtz each had 12 kills to lead the Norse.
Eisenmenger hit .429 in the win, while Wirtz attacked at a .409
clip. Holmes added 10 kills and 14 digs, while Natalie Forbes had
25 assists, two service aces and five digs.
NKU will play
its home opener Friday with a 7 p.m. match against Indianapolis.
That match will also mark the beginning of Great Lakes Valley Conference
action for the Norse.
NKU will meet
Saint Joseph’s on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Regents Hall.
