Eisenmenger hits .867 as Norse post three-game sweep over Kentucky Wesleyan

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University volleyball team made Senior Night a winning evening for Lynne Fischesser and Julie Lewis with a three-game sweep over Kentucky Wesleyan on Friday.

Fischesser, a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, hammered down seven kills and attacked at a 1.000 clip as the Norse posted a 30-13, 30-16, 30-12 win over Kentucky Wesleyan in Regents Hall. Lewis had nine kills, two service aces and a .529 hitting percentage as NKU improved to 32-0 all-time against Kentucky Wesleyan.

Kristina Eisenmenger added a team-leading 13 kills and a .867 hitting percentage for the Norse, who are 24-6 overall, 12-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Eisenmenger also had two block assists for the Norse, who attacked at a .522 clip as a team and coasted to the win.

Junior setter Andrea Lanham, also a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, moved into second place in Norse history with 3,323 career assists. Lanham finished with 40 assists Friday and added four kills, six digs and three service aces.

Tristen Dye collected 11 kills and hit .471, while Liz Holmes added eight kills, three service aces and eight digs. Fischesser led the Norse defense with nine digs as NKU limited Kentucky Wesleyan (2-22 overall, 0-15 GLVC) to a .011 hitting percentage.

NKU will wrap up the regular season at 2 p.m. Saturday with a non-conference match in Regents Hall against West Virginia State. The Norse begin play at the GLVC Tournament next Thursday at Kansas City, Mo.

Rockhurst captured the GLVC regular-season title and No. 1 seed in the GLVC Tournament Friday night with a win at Wisconsin-Parkside.
