Chip
Gregg is entering his seventh season as the softball team’s
assistant coach at Northern Kentucky University.
Since coming
to NKU in 2002, the Norse have compiled a 245-85 overall record.
The team has made five appearances in the national tournament since Gregg was
named assistant coach.
In 2004 and
2005, Gregg helped guide NKU to a Great Lakes Region Tournament
championship and the NCAA Division II national
finals.
This will be
Gregg’s 13th year coaching overall.
The Holmes High School graduate has a 620-157 career record,
including three years as a high school
head coach.
Gregg has coached
youth softball since 1995 and has compiled a 382-94 record, including
two world championships, a world runner-up,
five state championships,
and seven consecutive World Series appearances — never having finished
lower than fifth.
Gregg’s
primary coaching responsibility at NKU will be hitting, and he
will also assist with recruiting.
As a player,
Gregg was selected three times as all-world in softball.
Gregg
has one daughter, Britne. He resides in Taylor Mill, Ky. |
