WILDER, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University women's soccer
team snapped a four-game losing streak Friday night with a 2-0
victory over Southern Indiana in Great Lakes Valley Conference
play.
Cara Alldred got the Norse on the board in the first half,
flicking a Kara Costello pass off her head and into the net in
the 28th minute for her third marker of the season.
Lauren Franzen
followed up in the second half with the insurance goal, posting
her team-best sixth goal of the season after stripping USI goalkeeper
Meagan Homolla of the ball for a shot on an empty net.
Jenna Kramer
got the win between the posts, making eight saves for her second
shutout of the season.
Northern Kentucky (10-4 overall, 6-4 GLVC)
will host Kentucky Wesleyan on Sunday in their final home game
of the regular season. The Norse will honor seniors Cara Alldred
and Jayme Light in a halftime ceremony. BOX
