By Mike Anderson, NKU Sports Information FINDLAY, Ohio – Jayme Light and Kendall Day sparked the offense Friday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University women’s soccer team defeated Findlay, 3-1. The Norse (3-0) opened the scoring in the 44th minute as Light fed a pass to Day for a breakaway goal, her second of the season. Day returned the favor in the 56th minute by feeding Light, who shot from the right side to increase the lead to 2-0. After Findlay’s Ali Cariglio responded in the 59th minute with a goal, Light struck again with a point-blank blast in the 81st minute to seal the victory. Alayna Fontaine recorded the win in net for the Norse and made three saves in the victory. NKU opens Great Lakes Valley Conference play at home next Friday against Lewis. |
