WILDER, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University women's soccer team returned to its winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Rockhurst in Great Lakes Valley Conference play Friday night.

Amy Law opened up the scoring for the Norse in the 17th minute when Ashley Warndorf's pass ahead in the 18-yard box to Jeanna Goettleman created a two-on-one situation. Goettleman found Law to her right and slid it across for the wide-open chance and Law's third goal of the season.

Carla Schierloh got the insurance marker in the 35th minute when Jayme Light's low-angle shot came off the far side post. Schierloh, however, was there to bury the rebound for her first of the year. Warndorf picked up a second assist on the goal.

Norse goalkeeper Kelly Bare was relatively untested in the win, making one save as she improved her goalkeeping record to 5-2-0.

The win puts NKU in a three-team tie for fifth-place in the GLVC standings with Rockhurst and Indianapolis, all at 6-4. The Norse are 9-4 overall.

NKU plays host to Drury on Sunday afternoon at Town & Country in Wilder. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
