HIGHLAND HEIGHTS,
Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Jayme Light has been
named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in women’s
soccer.
Light, a sophomore forward
and a graduate of Colerain High School in Cincinnati, scored two
goals and added an assist to lead NKU to a pair of wins last weekend.
She tallied a goal Friday in the Norse’s 4-1 win over Lewis.
Light followed up that
performance by scoring a goal and assisting another as NKU knocked
off two-time defending GLVC champion Wisconsin-Parkside, 4-1, on
Sunday.
NKU improved to 7-2
overall with that victory, and the Norse are 5-1 in the GLVC. Light
has five goals and two assists this season.
NKU will play a non-conference
road game at Findlay this Friday at 4 p.m. The Norse will resume
GLVC play at noon Sunday when Bellarmine visits the Town & Country
Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky.
