HIGHLAND HEIGHTS,
Ky. - Northern Kentucky University women’s soccer head coach
Bob Sheehan has signed eight prep standouts as part of his 2006
recruiting class. They are:
•Brittany
Anderson, a 2006 graduate of McAuley High School. A center midfielder,
Anderson totaled 16 goals and 19 assists while leading the Mohawks
to two sectional championships and two Girls’ Greater Cincinnati
League runner-up finishes. In 2004, she helped McAuley post a second-place
finish in the city. Anderson was named second team All-GGCL as a
junior and senior.
•Brandi
Doss, a 2006 graduate of Harrison High School. Doss received All-Fort
Ancient Valley Conference, All-Southwest Ohio and All-City honors
as a senior. Doss is a versatile, quick forward or outside midfielder
who can also play in the back.
•Jenna
Kramer, a 2006 graduate of Seton High School. Kramer earned three
letters while playing for Seton. Kramer is an acrobatic goalkeeper
and was one of Cincinnati’s top players at that position last
fall.
•Meghan
Moore, a 2006 graduate of Oak Hills High School. As a senior, Moore
scored two goals and helped lead the Highlanders to an 11-2-4 record.
Moore is a defender who will add speed and depth to the back line.
•Hope
Zinser, a 2006 graduate of Oak Hills High School. As a senior, Zinser
was named first team All-Greater Miami Conference after earning
second team accolades as a junior. She received the Highlanders’
best defensive player honors as a junior and senior. Zinser
is a fast defender who has also competed at a high level on the
Oak Hills track team.
•Amy Martini,
a 2006 graduate of Seton High School. Martini is a physical, athletic
defender, and a ball winner in the midfield. Martini was named All-GGCL
as a junior and senior, and she helped Seton win the state championship
in bowling in 2005.
•Katie Guinn,
a 2006 graduate of Northwest High School. Guinn, a central defender
with a high level of technical ability, led Northwest to a pair
of FAVC championships. Guinn also scored three goals and added two
assists as a senior.
•Dana Fahlbusch a 2006 graduate of Sycamore High School. Fahlbusch,
a physical defender, led Sycamore to a 16-4 record and the GMC championship
as a senior. Fahlbusch helped the Aviators’ defense limit
opponents to just 12 goals in 20 games last fall.
Those recruits will
join an NKU team that posted a 19-3 record last season and captured
the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship. The Norse also earned
the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region Tournament.
NKU finished No. 10
in the Division II national rankings in 2005.
