RENSSELAER, Ind. - Jessie Slack scored 19 points and dished out three assists as Northern Kentucky University posted a 53-40 win at Saint Joseph’s College on Saturday afternoon.

Karen Brackman added 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists as NKU improved to 23-2 overall, 14-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Kendra Caldwell finished with 10 points and six rebounds for the Norse, who are ranked fourth nationally in the NCAA Division II poll.

Saint Joseph’s (0-25, 0-13 GLVC), which has lost 45 consecutive games during the past two seasons, held a 25-22 lead early in the second half. NKU responded with a 13-0 run to take a 35-25 advantage on Slack’s basket with 11:31 remaining in the game.

Danyelle Echoles scored five points during the NKU spurt, while Slack and Caldwell each netted four points.

NKU will play host to Bellarmine in Regents Hall on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The Norse conclude the regular season Saturday when Lewis visits Regents Hall.

NKU can clinch the GLVC East Division title outright by winning both games. The Norse hold a one-game lead over Wisconsin-Parkside in the GLVC East.

Quincy is 15-1 and leads the GLVC West. The Lady Hawks can clinch the overall No. 1 seed and right to host the GLVC Tournament by defeating Drury next Saturday at Quincy, Ill.
