INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky University’s Angela Healy has been selected to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference first team, the league office announced Thursday.

In addition, the Norse’s Cassie Brannen and Jessie Slack each were named to the All-GLVC third team.

Healy, a 6-foot-1 senior center and a graduate of Highlands High School, averages 14.6 points per game and a GLVC-leading 9.8 rebounds. Healy also ranks No. 2 in the GLVC in blocked shots (1.75 bpg) and is shooting 52.1 percent from the field.

The Ft. Thomas native enters Saturday’s GLVC Tournament semifinals with 1,163 career points. She also has 14 double-doubles this season. A year ago, Healy was named to the All-GLVC second team.

Brannen, a 6-1 junior post player from Mount Notre Dame High School in Cincinnati, leads the GLVC in blocked shots (1.93 bpg) and shooting percentage (.564). Brannen averages 12.8 ppg and 4.7 rebounds per contest. She has scored in double figures 24 times this season. A year ago, Brannen earned honorable mention All-GLVC accolades.

Slack, a 5-10 junior guard from Mt. Perry, Ohio, averages 13.0 ppg and has made a team-leading 48 3-pointers this season. The former Sheridan High School standout also has 70 assists and 41 steals. Slack has scored in double figures 20 times this season.

Drury’s Molly Carter was named GLVC Player of the Year, while the Lady Panthers’ Steve Harold earned GLVC Coach of the Year accolades. Samantha Meissel of Indianapolis was selected as GLVC Freshman of the Year.
