Isaacs has been selected as the GLVC Scholar-Athlete of the
Year for women's tennis.
Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Stephanie Isaacs has
been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of
the Year in women’s tennis.
The league selects
one student-athlete in each conference sport to be designated the
GLVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. This award is based upon athletic
accomplishments, both team and individual, and academic performance.
Isaacs, a sophomore
and a native of Waynesville, Ohio, led the Norse to the championship
match of the GLVC Tournament in 2008 and a berth in the NCAA Division
II Tournament. The 2006-07 GLVC co-Freshman of the Year shined in
her sophomore season by posting a 31-12 overall record.
Isaacs was 15-5
in singles action and 16-7 in doubles play. She was ranked ninth
in the Great Lakes Region in doubles and helped NKU finish with
an overall record of 18-5. The All-GLVC selection has maintained
a 4.00 cumulative grade point average in political science and speech
communication, and she is a two-time selection on the Academic All-GLVC

an ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District IV first team selection
and was a member of the NKU Honor’s List and NKU All-Academic
