HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University women’s basketball head coach Nancy Winstel has announced the signing of Cincinnati prep standout Diondra Holliday to a national letter of intent.

Holliday, a 5-foot-5 senior guard at Clark Montessori, averaged 16.8 points per game last season and was named All-Southwest Ohio Public League first team. She also averaged 6.8 assists, 4.2 steals and 5.6 rebounds as a junior as the Cougars posted a 16-6 record.

“Diondra is a point guard who can score, and she does a great job of attacking the basket,” Winstel said. “She is also a good 3-point shooter, and I have been familiar with Diondra for years because she attended our summer camps.”

A four-year starter at Clark Montessori, Holliday has twice been named Ohio Division III all-state honorable mention and scored more than 900 career points for the Cougars. She is the school’s all-time leader in assists, steals and points scored going into her senior year.

Holliday scored a single-game high of 35 points at Clark Montessori, and she also dished out 15 assists in a game.

NKU opened the season Tuesday night with a 98-42 win over Midway (Ky.). That marked the 500th victory for Winstel as Norse head coach.
